The game of Volleyball was invented in the year 1895 by a YMCA (Young Men Christian Association) physical education director called William G Morgan. By 1913, the growth of the game in the continent was evident as that year saw it being included in the first Far-Eastern Games, organised in Manila. Under the original rules of volleyball, a team had to score 21 points to win a game. In 1917, that number was reduced to 15.
